Nomination of Candidates by the Society for the Asahi Prize (Natural Sciences), Fiscal Year 2026

The Asahi Prize was established in 1929 to honor individuals and groups that have made outstanding accomplishments in the fields of academics and arts, and have greatly contributed to the development and progress of Japanese culture and society at large.

The Prize is regarded as one of the most prestigious prizes awarded by a nongovernmental entity. Many recipients of the Asahi Prize have later been honored with a Nobel Prize or the Order of Culture decoration. 

Applicants seeking nomination from the society are requested to provide the required information on the nomination form外部リンク in a Word file and submit it to the Society Secretariat (psj@imic.or.jp). The section for recommender information is not to be filled by the applicants.

Application Deadline

Must be received by August 25th, 2026.
Deadline to apply for the nomination from the society: Must be received by July 27th, 2026.
Nomination from our society: One person (as a general rule), maximum 2 persons.
