The 33rd Grant for Research on Umami Taste (The Society for Research on Umami Taste)

Purpose: The Society for Research on Umami Taste provides grants to support scientific research on umami, one of the basic tastes. We particularly hope to foster young researchers.

Eligibility: Researchers affiliated with universities, graduate schools, or equivalent research institutions within Japan. Undergraduate and graduate students should consult both their academic supervisor and the Secretariat in advance and list the supervisor’s name on the application form when applying. Researchers who are already receiving our funding during the grant period are not eligible.

Application Procedure: Please download the application form from the guidelines posted on our website (https://www.srut.org/subsidize/saboutline/), complete all required fields, and submit it to the Secretariat via email.

(Postal mail is not accepted.)

Application Deadline: October 31, 2026 (Saturday) — applications must arrive by this date.

Selection Process and Notification: Applications will be reviewed by the Society board members, and the results will be sent by postal mail.
