Call for Society Award Candidates
Dear Society Members,
We are now accepting nominations for this year’s Society Awards.
Starting from FY2026, the application procedure has been changed to an online submission system.
For all awards, please log in to your Society website account "My Page" and submit your application using the appropriate form listed under “Application / Response Forms.”

Your login ID is your membership number.
We particularly encourage applications from early‑career and women researchers, as these awards are valuable opportunities for career advancement.

Important Notes for Applicants
- Applications for the Promotion Award, the Irisawa Memorial Young Physiologists' Award, and the Aya Irisawa Award are limited to one application per person per fiscal year.
- Multiple applications to these awards within the same year are not permitted.
- Members who have not paid the annual membership fee for the current year are not eligible to apply.
- Please confirm your payment status via My Page (member portal) before applying.
- Even if the abstract submission deadline for the 104th Annual Meeting is extended, the deadlines for award applications will NOT be extended.
Award Categories
1. Promotion Award of the Physiological Society of Japan for Young Scientists (Promotion Award of PSJ)
Deadline: October 9th, 2026, Noon
This award encourages young researchers (aged 42 or younger) who have achieved outstanding research accomplishments and are expected to play active roles in the Society in the future. Eligible applicants must be regular members with at least three years of membership. If research activities were interrupted due to life events, the age limit may be extended accordingly.
Prize: ¥200,000 per person
2. Hiroshi and Aya Irisawa Memorial Promotion Award for Young Physiologists
Deadline (extended): October 9th, 2026, Noon
This award encourages promising young researchers conducting original basic research. Eligible applicants must be:
- Graduate students, or
- Within five years after obtaining a PhD, and in both cases 35 years old or younger, and regular members of the Society. Life‑event interruptions (childbirth, childcare, caregiving, disasters, etc.) allow extension of the eligibility period.
Prize: ¥100,000 per person
3. Aya Irisawa Memorial Promotion Award for Women Physiologists
Deadline: October 9th, 2026, Noon
This award supports outstanding women physiologists who are continuing research under any circumstances. Two categories are available based on years since obtaining the doctoral degree:
- Early‑career researchers (Less than 16 years after obtaining a PhD)
- Mid‑career researchers (Over 16 years after obtaining a PhD)
- Applicants must be members of the Physiological Society of Japan.
Prize: ¥500,000 per person
